Position Summary:

Our client is hiring a talented candidate to become a member of their software development program, comprised of multiple teams working together to modernize and enhance existing applications and develop new mission and business solutions.

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related degree 
  • 3-5 years as an Agile Product owner
  • Experience managing software release schedules
  • Experience using SW development management and collaboration tools (e.g. Confluence, JIRA, MS Project)
  • Experience with government certification and accreditation requirements (e.g. ICD 503, DCID 6/3)

Technology Skills and Strengths:

  • Requirements gathering & documentation
  • Microsoft TFS platform, Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft PowerPoint/Office
  • Strong knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodology
  • HP Quality Center / Service Now
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including technical writing skills
  • Agile frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, SAFe
  • Web and mobile applications
  • Experience working with brand new applications or legacy applications
  • Software development life cycle
  • Microsoft Team Foundation server
  • Knowledge of user experience design and/or demonstrated influence on improved UX
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and diagnostic skills

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance on release and deployment best practices; plan releases
  • Communicate with stakeholders on status of deployments
  • Escalate issues quickly and professionally for fast resolution
  • Help the Scrum Master organize Sprint Review Meetings
  • Create and maintain the Product backlog
  • Lead definition & creation of requirements (Epics/Stories/Tasks) for ERP application projects
  • Maintains a constant line of communication with business stakeholders
  • Meet with business users and technical experts to document and review functional scope, obtaining signoff on agreed upon requirements and creating visual representation of new/changed functionality
